A company involved in accommodation in Bucks has supported the opening of a community café in High Wycombe, on Desborough Road. The café is expected to empower people with learning disabilities as well as those with mental health conditions.
The facility will provide a creative and stimulating opportunity for those with learning disabilities and mental health needs; giving them a social environment that will make them feel valued, accepted and appreciated by the community.
Prior to any placement, a referral will be required for every potential employee, after which a qualifying individual will be offered a trial period lasting six weeks.
A statement from the company putting up the café, which also provides accommodation in Bucks, said the initiative will grant people a chance to gain access to valuable working skills while interacting with the rest of society on a daily routine. IT lessons and a range of group activities will also be offered at the facility.
