A children’s hospice is the main charity the mayor of Beaconsfield has nominated this year to support in 2011/2012. Helen and Douglas House offers special hospice care for children and young adults residing in Buckinghamshire.
The organisation has two hospice houses in Buckinghamshire and Richard Keith, the Beaconsfield mayor, said the yearly cost of running the two hospice houses in Buckinghamshire is more than £4.5m; with 80% of the funding sourced from voluntary contributions by groups, individuals, businesses, schools and colleges.
Mr Keith confirmed that he is committed to boosting the charity and to increasing its profile in Beaconsfield. Just recently, the charity raised several hundred pounds after running a tombola at this year’s Beaconsfield Country Fayre. |
